Frequently Asked Questions
Product Fit & Compatibility
Q: Which cases are the TALON™ System compatible with?
A: The TALON™ Systems are precision die-cut to fit each case perfectly. It is important that you order the correct system for your existing hard case. It is strongly recommended that your case has a convoluted or 'egg-crate' style foam on the lid, as closing the case may be difficult otherwise.

Q: Will this work with rifles that have side-mounted optics or accessories?
A: Yes - The TALON™ System is designed to handle side-mounted accessories, wider LPVO optics, as well as bolts & charging handles with ease.
Q: Can I store multiple rifles in one case with the TALON™ System?
A: Yes - We provide enough blocks to fit almost any configuration, including multi-rifle setups. Strategic placement will need to be considered when transporting multiple firearms. Additional blocks may be purchased separately if you wish to add protection.
Modularity & Customization
Q: How is this different from the Magpul DAKA® Grid system?
A: The Magpul DAKA® Grid introduced modular rifle case storage using a fixed interlocking grid structure. The TALON™ System takes a different engineering approach. Each base is precision-cut to the exact interior of a specific case, eliminating open gaps and maximizing usable surface area. Repositionable polyurethane blocks can be placed exactly where needed — without fixed spacing constraints — allowing secure storage of wider rifles, side-mounted optics, and evolving configurations.
Q: Can I reconfigure it later if my setup changes?
A: Yes - The TALON™ System is easily reconfigurable and future-proof. Within seconds you can have a completely new setup.
Q: What are accent caps and customization options?
A: Accent Caps may be purchased separately and are purely cosmetic. They're easily interchangeable and come in many different styles and colors. Caps are carefully styled to enhance the appearance of any setup and provide an optional opportunity for customization. More customization options can be expected in the near future, including more accent cap designs as well as base fabric and block customization.

Q: Are new block types coming in the future?
A: Yes - New block types are currently under development. The TALON™ System is a living platform that we plan to support and enhance far into the future.
Materials & Durability Guide
Q: What materials are used in the TALON™ System?
A: Corvus uses premium closed-cell XLPE foam bonded with industrial-grade nylon loop fabric using 3M adhesive. The blocks are molded from integral-skinned polyurethane and permanently bonded to a high-strength hook interface. These materials were selected specifically for durability, structural memory, and long-term load resistance. These fabrics and foams do not retain moisture, and can be easily cleaned to allow your TALON™ System to look like new with minimal upkeep.

Q: Will the blocks dent or permanently deform under heavy rifles?
A: No - We test blocks under extreme compressive loads to ensure they retain structural integrity under long-term weight. Unlike expanded polypropylene grid systems, the TALON™ blocks do not permanently crush under normal rifle loads.
Q: Can the TALON™ System be cleaned?
A: Yes - Nylon loop fabric on the base was carefully selected by our engineers to allow for easy cleaning. Nylon fabric does not hold dirt, sand, or debris like traditional velcro loop material and feels more like the suede you might find on some clothing. With a lightly damp microfiber cloth, you can wipe away any mud or dirt on both the blocks and the base. We bully test our products using acetone as a cleaning agent-- and while we do not recommend using such harsh chemicals, it highlights the durability of our materials.
Practical Use & Protection
Q: Does it protect my rifle as well as traditional pluck foam?
A: Yes - The blocks are engineered for maximum impact absorption. High sheer strength of the velcro combined with added compression of a closed lid confidently locks in even heavy rifles. We drop test our systems up to 42" which is what most high end hard-case companies such as Pelican drop test to. For proper placement instructions, we recommend following the included user manual to ensure protection in the event of a drop.
Q: Why does the base fold?
A: The folding base provides secondary storage beneath the insert for targets, documentation, and NFA paperwork. It also houses a concealed Apple AirTag® pocket for discreet tracking during travel.
Q: Is it TSA compliant and does it work for airline transport?
A: Yes - However it is important to note that the case determines airline compliance, not the TALON™ System. All currently supported cases meet airline transport requirements when properly locked and declared in accordance with TSA regulations. Always verify with your airline prior to travel.
Q: Can small items fall through the system?
A: No - The TALON™ System is precision cut to fit your case perfectly. Unlike grid-interlocking systems, there are no holes or gaps for small components or ammunition to fall into.
Purchasing & Policy
Q: Is this a budget storage solution?
A: TALON™ is a premium engineered system designed for serious rifle owners. It is not a disposable foam replacement. Designed in the USA and manufactured with the best possible materials, the TALON™ System aims to be the gold standard for reconfigurable rifle case systems.
Q: What if I only have one rifle?
A: If your setup is fixed and unlikely to change, a static foam insert may be sufficient. TALON™ is built for evolving setups.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Upon the date of purchase you have a 30-day window for return as long as the TALON™ System is largely in its original packaging. Additionally, starting from the date of purchase you also have a 1-year warranty period. Should you find any defects or damage from manufacturing, we will replace or refund. For either inquiries, email us at Contact@corvus-usa.com and we will typically respond within one business day.
Q: Do you offer bulk or dealer pricing?
A: Yes - Please reach out to us on the contact page for inquiries about dealer & distributor pricing, or if you plan to purchase larger quantities.
Why Choose Corvus?
Q: Why should I choose Corvus over more established brands?
A: As an innovation-forward brand, we decided early on that value and quality would remain our core pillars. The products you will receive are precision fit, utilizes scientifically-superior materials, offers wider rifle compatibility, and future expansion support. Should you ever require assistance, you’ll receive direct, responsive support from our team — not an outsourced call center. Finally, our quality control team checks each and every component carefully prior to packaging and shipping, minimizing any risk of defect or shipping error.
Q: Is the TALON™ System Patented?
A: Yes - Currently "Patent Pending" with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) as of September 2024.
Q: Where is the TALON™ System made?
A: The TALON™ System was designed and engineered in the United States. Our latest orders of bases come from Columbus Ohio, while the polyurethane blocks are manufactured in Ontario, Canada. As we expand and volumes become larger, we may be required to outsource manufacturing to other countries. However, our American quality standards will not be compromised, no matter where it is produced.
