Just recieved the kit for an Apache 9800. The foam fit was tight and secure in the case. In minutes I had it configured for my PRS gas gun and suppressor. Overall, I am very pleased with the system, especially since I can reconfigure for my F-Class bolt gun in just a minute or 2. One case for 2 very different guns. Highly reccomend!
Works great, quality is surprisingly nice. Velcro is strong, crisp, and secure and it's easy to tell when your equipment is sufficiently supported. If you have a heavier rifle like me, the 8 blocks it comes with is more than enough. Still looks neat and organized even when there's a ton of stuff inside.
This beats buying a whole new case by a long shot. I can switch out the blocks on the fly as easily as I switch out my equipment. The blocks cradle my gear securely—if feels like nothing will budge even if my case is dropped. The accent caps lend a sleek look to a well-engineered product. It’s good to finally see a configurable case that can go up against the one produced by "those other guys." Five stars!
absolutely thee only way to store/transport your precious good via hardcase! the modularity of this takes it to whole different level. the Daka grid has nothing on this because the Talon doesnt need a grid! place what you want where you want. and with the current case options, they are all already a fraction the size of a Daka. anyone that owns a Daka know that placebo of it wears off quick when you realize its large internal volume is 80% foam... or even if you want to compare it the the Ragar, you dont need a hundred little puzzle pieces to get you're stuff going. This not the case with the Talon!
the velcro loop side is some premium stuff, you can hardly even tell its kind of velcro/hook&loop. the blocks are even a surprisingly nice foam too, soft enough to not hurt your guns, but its firm enough - along with its strong hook side - to be totally confident that it won't give under pressure or a drop. the bottom foam is cut very precisely to the Plano AW version i got, it sits very snug. also, the fact that bottom foam can fold so you can get to whatever you stored behind without having to take the whole thing out it is a cherry on top. plus, airtag holder spot under the foam is a second cherry on top.
My literal only gripe thats not even a big deal as its purely aesthetics, is that some of the caps dont stay in place on the block super well - BUT, the folks at Corvus have already acknowledged it was a challenging design and its not 100% to get the cap and the foam to cooperate and are already working on a solution. If there's anything that's a sign of good business built on good folks and a passion, its transparency and the motion toward constant improvement.
All in all, Corvus and the Talon system solves the biggest crux of hardcases. And if you know the hardcase struggles, you know the Talon is thee answer!
Arrived in a week. Consolidated two hunting rifles into one (Plano 52) and it’s really efficient. Seems super solid. Decided to give this a chance over daka grid which seemed cheap and cannot store larger items like ear pro or some optics. I really like it so far. Also really nice to store targets underneath because I always forget them. Materials are REALLY durable and quality, so I have no doubt the set will last forever. Will be getting a second one for my AR kit after holidays. Since it’s Velcro compatible, love the idea of what else I can do with it.
